No net on the 3rd Thursday of the month, so please join us at the monthly OMARC club meeting.
OMARC sponsors the Ulster County Weather Net, a directed net which meets Monday through Saturday at 7:30 AM on the 146.805MHz Repeater. In the event that the primary repeater is not in service, a backup repeater is announced. On Sundays data is sent via email. The primary purpose of this net is to collect daily meteorological data for the National Weather Service. The Weather Net is managed by the OMARC SKYWARN® coordinator, Erwin Wuttke, WA2EW. Trained operators at designated stations inside and outside of Ulster County report daily. Any licensed amateur operator is welcome to join the net, to give a report or just to say hello.
Currently the Ulster County Weather Net is looking for reporting stations in Ellenville, Saugerties and Red Hook to provide measurements on a daily basis. Contact the weather net manager, Erwin Wuttke, WA2EW if interested.
